JOB TITLE:  Climate Change Project Assistant
TEAM/PROGRAMME: Emergency
LOCATION:  Da Nang with frequently travel to Quang Nam
GRADE: C  POST TYPE: National

CHILD SAFEGUARDING:
Level 3: The responsibilities of the post may require the post holder to have regular contact with or access to children or young people
ROLE PURPOSE: 
To assist both the Project Manager and the Project Officer in project implementation and logistical works to ensure the quality of Save the Children work in Quang Nam Province.
SCOPE OF ROLE: 
Reports to: Project Manager
Staff reporting to this post: None
Budget Responsibilities: None
Working contact:  CBA Programme/Project Manager, Project officers and other SC staff in Central
office


KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY: 
1.  Project implementation, operation
Assist Project Manager and Project Office in:
o  Prepare monthly monitoring, quarterly project plan
o  Preparing progress reports, quarterly report
o  Project documenting and filling
o  Documenting best practices and case studies
o  Translation/interpretation
o  Maintaining effective communication and coordination with local partners and
team members
2.  Monitoring, Evaluation
Assist Project Manager and Project Officer in:
o  Making sure the partners reports submit on time (financial/narrative)
o  Data collection, data/information management
o  Conducting monitor some project activities in Quang Nam and give
recommends on the implementation
o  Participating in the midterm; annual or final evaluation
o  Keeping the team well informed on the progress, issues for the assigned task
3.  Finance
Assist Project Manager and Project Officer in:
o  Budget plan/revision of the partners
o  Ensuring all the expenditures are incompliant with SC, donor and government
policies

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Essential
University degree in a related subject, e.g., environment or Food Security & Livelihood or community development, etc.
Minimum 1 year of work experience in development sector especially in climate change adaptation, preferably with an NGO
Experience of community awareness raising, climate change adaptation,/ and Food Security & Livelihood
Experience of working with local government and partners
Good communication skills and a positive attitude to team work
Working level of spoken and written English
Commitment to Save the Children’s values
Desirable:
Familiarity with community based adaptation models
Familiarity with community based researches and assessments
